first I want you to keep in mind that in life you get what you pay for!
Meaning when looked at side by side with the pay for's the fee ones don't hold up as well...now that my speech is over go to this site http://av-test.org/ their an AV testing org and rank every AV. read the reviews check out the links and pick the best one for you and your needs. not what I or anyone else tells you too. I suggest you look into zonealarm they have a not just a free firewall but also a AV and spywear all in one that saves you running militi apps

I've been using Avast Antivirus for years. If you're talking a home network..then you should check it out (www.avast.com). Otherwise, I'd too say AVG.

I really like AVG, but they didn't have the adware part, and some other stuff........my computer died cause of it.
I got a great but cheap software, called PCillian
easy to use, and haven't had problems, cost $50 and a $25 rebate!!

They're both good but Avast doesn't add adverts to your outgoing email messages as the Grisoft product (AVG) does.

Hope that helps!
