Yes, it was about surgery and fear. He told her about letting fear in for 5 seconds and then doing what he had to do.

I believe that it was a story of his first surgery, when he punctured a sac on the base of someone's spine and a bunch of nerves fell out like angel hair pasta. He said he wanted to run away, but he couldn't and he ended up getting through just fine.

he told her he learned from his experience while doing a surgery that when you are fearful count to 5 and that the fear would go away allowing you to do what ever it was you had to do
