Montreal and Quebec in general have had poor experiences with sports teams, (Habs excluded). They have had CFL, NHL and MLB teams all bolt from the province because the support locally and government wise is not there. Government wise, big name sports teams help with tourism. Toronto's team is financially secured as they are owned by the same people who own the Toronto Maple Leafs. Vancouver is any ones guess why they could not make it...the name sucked they made a few bad draft picks and no one wanted to play in Vancouver. I think Las Vegas would be a great town for basketball...has anything there ever failed. It even made Wayne Newton a household name.
