There are dozens of download managers. I really tried a lot of them. And i made to the conclusion that getright is the best one by far. It's has nice interface, MANY MANY more features than the rest download managers. Works with IE, Opera and firefox. Works for downloads AND UPLOADS !!! It downloads bittorrent files. It is rock stable ( i used for years now and has never crashed ). Has schenduling, max download rate. Take very few computer resources... Don't even consider anything else... Trust me on this one...

They really don't work.. Your download speed is determined by your ISP speed settings and the condition of your connection. There is nothing a piece of software can do to speed up a download.

If you have a broadband connection you can use tcp optimizer to adjust your TCP settings so that your computer accepts the largest packets possible instead of the default windows settings.
