He said, "It was a thumping or what we used to a call a A$$ whooping".

Then a reporter took the thumping thing out of context a little and he asked what paper he was with and he said, "The New York Times". I heard him mutter something there and laugh.

right here is the attempt for who gets the credit and how plenty: if the project had failed, if the helicopters had fallen into Al Qeada's palms, if OBL had escaped lower back yet all of our SEALS were killed, if we had to work out the lifeless SEALS dragged during the streets of Abbottabad, would any cons have reported it replaced into Bush's fault, too? How plenty blame would they have given to Bush? one hundred% 75% 50%? regardless of the undeniable fact that plenty blame Bush could get it it had failed is precisely how plenty credit he could get, too

Mel T: The reporter did not take it out of context. Listen to the exchange again. Bush tried to retract the 'thumpin' statement, but then realized that he had in fact said that they had recieved "a thumpin'."
