My sister in law suffered awful morning sickness like you but it went at about 19 weeks. Dont worry, not long. She also says she felt fluttering all the time like you. She can feel really big kicks now though as shes about 35 weeks.

Good luck with your pregnancy and dont worry - it sounds normal what you're going through!!

PS - It is entirely your choice if you find out the sex of the baby - It will be a nice surprise to look forward to if you dont though!

unfortunately there is no way to predict when your morning sickness will end. Some women don't get it at all, others have it for the whole of their pregnancy. Most women fall somewhere between the two. All you can do is try to eat regular small meals and keep down as much as you can. If you're being really sick I suggest taking a good multi-vitamin tablet to give your body a good head start. You could also cnsider a vist to the GP if the sickness is really bad.

Feeling your baby move at 17 weeks is fine. It should feel like a gassy, bubbly feeling at this stage. It's normal to feel it every day, once your baby starts moving it doesn't seem to stop. Wait until the later stages when you can actually see arms and legs poking out all over your belly !

As for finding out the sex of your baby, that's an entirely personal choice. I chose not to find out. During the later stages of my pregnancy, the thing I was looking forward to most was being told the sex of the baby when he was born. Some people like to know in advance though so that they can shop and decorate in a particular colour !

Good luck with everything. I hope your sickness passes soon and the rest of your pregnancy goes well !

Sickness in pregnancy can last a few weeks or in some cases all the way through. If you are being sick more then a couple times a day or you feel you aren't keeping food down or you are losing weight go and see your doctor.
As for feeling the baby moving this is a good thing and being that you are in the early stages of pregnancy you are probably just more aware of this new feeling and this is nothing to be worried about.
finding out the sex of your baby is your choice and if you are on a budget you may want to find out so you can buy pink or blue straight away. I personally feel that finding out ruins the surprise and you must keep in mind that they may not be able to see the sex of the baby on the next scan as babies tend to be curled up obscuring the view, this happened to my sister-in-law with both of her pregnancy's.
If you have any further concerns about your pregnancy, you should see your midwife to get medical advice.

You can find out the sex at your 20 weeks scan. I did at 22 weeks and it's a GIRL! They will definetly be able to tell unless the baby is facing the wrong way or moving too much. Also have you tried preggo pops? They should help. Here is a link if you need it...

They are very helpful. Some woman get rid of morning or all day sickness after the first trimester and some keep it throughout their entire pregnancy. I got it and it went away after the 14th week. It just depends on the person. Also about your baby moving...the answer is yes you can feel it but not too strong yet. I felt it as early as 15 weeks. Later on the kicks and jabs will get stronger and stronger.

My constant sickness lasted til week 22. Nothing I did could help, and I am sorry to say, I have done my research and tried all the suggestions, from ginger bisquits, lollies, to warm water with lemon juice squeezed. The only thing that seemed to 'refresh' me and perhaps slightly surpress the need to be constantly bent over the bogg were satsumas. I feel your 'pain' believe me!
Yes, you are supposed to be feeling baby moving every day, soon it will be more frequent and there will be a lot more movement. The most amazing thing is when you can actually feel the little hand and the foot, and you try chasing it in your tummy just as it moves! I found out the sex of the baby at my 20 week scan, because by that stage I wanted to start addressing the baby with a name, and with a he/ she as opposed to calling the baby 'it' every time we were talking about him. Also, then your imagination kicks in even more and you start thinking about colours and clothes you can put your baby into and start picturing how they may look. It is really exciting. Enjoy and good luck!

You're unlucky to still feel sick, but it happens, unfortunately. If it's any consolation, people who feel sick for a long time rarely miscarry. You'll feel the baby moving frequently from now on, and that's as it should be -if you went a whole day without feeling movement, you should check with your doctor. As for finding out the sex, that's just a personal choice, but if you do, be aware that mistakes are made, don't get totally hung up on the idea that it's a definite as you may get a surprise! I have two children - with my first, I asked at the scan and was told (correctly!) what I was having - second time, I didn't ask thinking it might be nicer to have a surprise. Now, everyone's different, of course, but I couldn't say one way was any better than the other - I was just so amazed that I'd had a baby, the gender wasn't such a big deal. I hope you stop feeling ill soon - the usual suggestions are a dry biscuit before you get out of bed and anything with ginger (biscuits, herbal tea, whatever) but for me, sparkling mineral water seemed to make me feel less queasy.

You should worry if the baby stops moving. Yes, it will sleep, so it won't move all the time, but it will move. Wait until it starts kicking your liver, then you will know it.

Sickness varies from person to person. Some women suffer none at all, some a few weeks, some the whole pregnancy.

As you will be seeing your doctor every month at this stage, this is something you should discuss with him or her. There are medications available if the sickness is really severe, but it is best to stay away from all medication during pregnancy if at all possible.

You may or may not find out the sex.

My question would be why are you having a scan? If there is no medical reason to have a scan, it is not recommended. Radiologists are documenting their concerns that scans have become much "stronger" these days and they are warning that doctors should consider whether or not they are really necessary unless there are medical indications that one is necessary.

unfortunately, sickness at anytime of day can happen right through pregnancy. hopefully it will ease off soon for you however. Ginger is the best known natural remedy for sickness in pregnancy. If you get to the point where you can keep absolutely nothing down, you will need a few days in the hospital on a drip to rehydrate you and your baby. If it's absolutely terribly bad and up til the end, you may be tried on steroids for a few days. They do this as a last resort for sickness. Rest as much as possible and drink as much water as possible to replace what you're losing. It is a great sign of a healthy baby to feel it moving every day. It is not totally unusual that it takes a days rest, but if at any time you don't feel it moving for longer than 24hours, you should go see the midwife and get scanned. As for knowing the sex, it must be a very personal decision to make. Usually they get it right, if you want to start decorating etc, but it's possible to get it wrong.Best of luck and hope you'll be feeling better soon.

Yes some people suffer morning sickness all the way through, try eating ginger biscuits and having sips of water, this helped me. Yes the baby will be moving alot now and that is all good, when you get to the end of your pregnancy you will find that the baby will move less because of not having the room it used to. I did find out the sex with both of mine and dont regret it,it was nice to be that bit more prepared. People say if you find out then its no surprise but that is rubbish, your still excited about meeting your baby and you may know the sex but you dont know what it looks like.. If this is your first baby i advise you taking an outfit or 2 in your hospital bag for a small or tiny baby ,my first weighed 7lb 7oz and i took in newborn and 0-3 and they burried her. Good luck!

You are meant to feel your baby move about 10 times a day every day, as the baby gets bigger you will notice the movements a lot more honey. As for the sex of the baby its purely upto you i guess this is your first? Good luck As for the morning sickness i had it so bad i needed hospital treatment mine went at 4 months exactly i tried ginger foods accupuncture bands and hospital treatments it is known to feel sick all the way through you pregnancy but it will all be worth it. Again good luck
