Is she pregnant......?

Question

This girl that my mate knows says she thinks she is pregnant. She was meant to have her period on Sunday, but hasn't. She says she's on the coil.

My friend is making her have a pregnancy test at dinnertime.

How accurate will the test be seeing as she is currently four days late? Also, would she be able to cheat the result?

The only way I could think of cheating the test would be if she met a pregnant friend in the toilet. Her friend took the test, but she walked out of the toilet with it.

She wants to make him believe she is pregnant - that's the reason why we think she might cheat (see my last question).

she can't make a false a positive .. but a negative can be false... like has been said make her take the test at home.. the b/f can even asked to watch the result come up.. after she has peed on the stick and washed her hands they could watch the result come up together..

Depending on what test you buy then they can normally tell if the period is over 2 weeks late, however i believe there are tests available to tell you within a few days but not really sure how accurate these are. It takes around 10 days for your hormones to change in your body to indicate a positive result on the test. I can't imagine why anyone would want to lie about something as major as this! There is no physical way she can cheat the test! Unless of course she does what you have suggested. Is there any reason why she would lie? Or is it just to trap her boyfriend? If that is the case you shouldnt be friends with people like this. xx

Sounds like she really does want to be pregnant and wants to cheat her boyfriend because she is insecure. Perhaps her boyfriend loves her and would welcome a child you never know until you ask. It's not a game you know but as she is on the coil it could purely be she has a late period. I know it is a difficult time at your age, believe me I've been there and done the same things your mate has done. Tests so early on might not be the most accurate way to go around it. If she is agitated in any way with stress this can lead to periods being later.

Always be truthful about everything. Make sure your mate looks after herself.

Clearblue do a test that you can use upto 4 days before a period is due so you could ask her to use this. If you are concerned about her faking the result then maybe an appointment at the doctors would be best, there she can do a pregnancy test which would be sent away or you could go to your local family planning clinic where they can do a test then and there. Your Friend can attend both these appointments as long as she gives her consent.

You need to make sure that nobody else goes to the toilet with her if you're that worried about her faking the result somehow. If there is any kind of marking in the window as indicated in the instructions then she is pregnant - no matter how faint. If she isn't pregnant and you're telling the truth about her your friend needs to give her a wide birth. She sounds like trouble to me. You don't kid people into thinking you're pregnant unless you really want to be in my opinion. So if she isn't this time then maybe next time she will be.

Leave the poor girl alone. If she takes a test it will be her own descision as to when, where and with whom. It's not really any of your business but if you must butt in then give her some friendly advice. If she's on the coil and is currently pregnant, she must find out and go see her gp straight away as birth control methods such as this can damage the baby. I think thats slightly more important than who is telling fibs!!!

Make her take the test with one of you standing beside the bathroom door. That way you'll be the first one to see the test and know whether she's pregnant or not and she can't lie to you. Good Luck!

she cud be late for other reasons and i dont thick she wud cheat the test. what wud be the point she wud be found out and if shes on the coil theres very little chance and i once was 1 week late and thought i was but i aint thank god i thick shes just saying that for thr attention

para or what , u can get pregnant on the coil coz no contraception is 100 % effective so get her to take the test at his house so he can stop bieng a paranoid wreck

I ask, is this a girl asking the question, or is it the boy who thinks he may have got her pregnant and looking for people to tell him she is pulling him in for a wedding with a shot gun start ?.
