Other animals merely act on instinct. We have the capacity for thought. Sometimes we think too much & it drives us mad.

I think you need to put more details for your statement there, the reason/s why you think that WE are such insane animals. I believe what my holy book says that God has made Man to be the most superior creature He ever creates. WE are above anything else and what we make us the best is : mind.
If under certain circumstances we are considered mentally unhealty or so-called insane by common people that would be a special condition. This condition is individual.

The common belief in our times, is that man is a more evolved animal. As a natural consequence of this kind of thinking he behaves as an animal. The image that he has of himself determines his behaviour.
Or he thinks that an unkown "evil" force makes him sin constantly and therefore all the blame is on this evil force.
However if he realizes that he is a "higher form of life" , than an animal, just as the vegetable is a higher form of life than the mineral, and the animal a higher form of life than the vegetable,
then his behaviour will definetely change and he will stop imitating the animal in his behaviour.

i don't agree that man is an animal. man is a higher order being. we have control over mind, freewill and sense of moral judgment. to a certain extent we can say "insane" but not in every respect. "insane" because man is never ready to take responsibility for the actions.
a very vague answer but that's as close as i can get.

Well mutants usualy are a form of beta-testing and are only used a short while after that they go extinct.We will disspear too just to prove that we are not as succesful as we think we are.

im guessin its because we are all in a constantly in a state of chemical imbalance. everything we consume is in some way or form tainted by our own hand,sad really
