Within the first 24 hours of taking the morning after pill, the chances of not conceiving are 95% and reduce significantly after that. However, the chances of conceiving without the morning after pill are like 1 in 4 or 5. It all depends on what stage of her cycle this happened.

Have her wait until after the "withdrawal bleeding" and then her next period after that before starting the contraceptive pill. The morning after pill affects the menstral cycle and the "withdrawal bleeding" is not a period, its the breaking down of the uterus lining so a fertialised ovum cannot implant itself. The next period should be on time, or maybe a few days late. Have a prescription for the contraceptive pill ready for when it starts, because you must start on the very first day of your period. In the meantime, she should either not have sex or use a condom and be careful of it breaking.

The morning after pill can cause utopic pregnancies (the ovum implants itself in the fallopian tube) so if she has any pain in that area, she must see a doctor immediately (utopic pregnancies are life threatening).

The contraceptive pill isnt 100% effective against pregnancy, so it is advisable to use a condom aswell.

I hope this helps your friend

She needs to start taking birth control if she plans on being sexually active. If she wants to have sex, fine. But take all the necessary precautions that is available to you. Use condoms, not one but two and use the birth control. There are different methods for birth control, but the one that I think works the most is the pill, you just take it everyday and you are fine.

Condoms do break and arenot 100% safe...I would think she should also be taking birth control pills if she does not want to be a parent.

first of all if she don`t want her parents to know it it could be a little problem but u don`t have to be worried a baby could be aborted till the 3. month. it`s better for her if she goes to a doctor or makes a pregnancy test.
