Is wrestling fake? No. Is wrestling predetermined? Yes. Wrestlers are actors. But this doesn't mean that they aren't talented athletes. Much of what they do DOES hurt. Look at the match between Foley and Edge at Wrestlemania. I don't care who you are. Thumbtacks up the back hurt like hell.
Also, sometimes wrestlers accidentally hurt themselves or their opponents. At Summerslam 1997, Owen Hart gave Stone Cold a piledriver but executed the move wrong resulting in an injury that still to this day affects Austin. There are many, many other instances out there but that's the only one that comes to mind.
As for storylines, most of the time it is acting. But once in a while, a feud will start because of real life tension between wrestlers. Take the Hardy/Edge feud a while back. In real life, Lita was dating Matt Hardy for 6 years, but cheated on him with Edge. The story broke out on the net and Vince decided he could make money out of it and Matt, Edge, and Lita agreed to the storyline.

I'm going to explain it like this. People want to categorize wrestling as one or the other. It's real, no it's fake. Well if you ask me you cannot actually put it in one category or the other. Yes it is a sport. Yes it is entertainment. Yes they do wrestle which makes it a sport. Yes the results are determined behind the scene which make it entertainment.
How do you tell a man or woman who gets in a ring, preforms wrestling moves and stunts against another who is doing the same that they are fake. The injuries they sometimes sustain and suffer. The aches and pains their bodies carry are very much real.
Most of the storylines are false with a few occasions where they interweave reality with fiction to make a good story. That is what draws the fans.
I'm not sure exactly who the script writers are but I think Stephanie McMahon has something to do with the creative department. Yes Vince knew what was going to happen to him. When you have a multi-billion dollar business under your belt and you are in the entertainment business you do what it takes to keep the fans happy. His embarrassment made him alot of money. His heart is in the mighty dollar bill.
For a few million dollars what does he care that he had a few embarrassing moments. The fans love to hate him and he plays off that.

Man It's sport's entertainment!
Not real Not fake!
They help eachother out but !
Boy you bound to have been in a situation where youre winded cause something fell on your gut!
Hat's of to anyone who takes it but think ! If I huted you throw a basic table it would split your and my back open!
It's all made for entertainment! It's a show
You go watch a live show first real chaired seats you take the seat home cause their special alloys? If it was all real it would be basic wrestling and a sport not sport entertainment!
No matches aint all fixed ! Exsept in weekly run's that they stage daily! like in all big event's we decide the winner!
Go way back into early WWF to see this outcome as titlevtitle?
WARRIOR- HULK HOGAN took nearley 45 minutes of each oppenent getting the better chear! before Warrior took both belt's
great match warrior would have won anyway!
Tif No Vince does now but steph help's Well all McMahnon's Don Guererro and a couple other's sgt slaughter still in their
And mate best way to put it "it's scriptes"
Blood pellet's are kept in around waist! but still entertaining watching John Cena run down on K.Fed last few week's on Raw!
Gotta say class entertainment and good way of helping get a rivolery! Booker-Cena

Stephani McMahon actually creates the storylines. The results are scripted but the whole match isn't scripted. It's not 100% fake. They don't exactly read word for word from a script their just told what to say and they make It their own.If you have any other questions email me at tiffanylashae19@yahoo.com.

Let's say that main plot points are scripted, but the in-betweeners are a lot of improv...technically the characters can change up the story since they are performing live. Who knows what is planned and what isn't...that's what makes wrestling so entertaining: what part is real, what part is fake, what part is not planned, and is that real blood.

It is scripted but it isn't followed completely.
The blood is real most of the time, sometimes resulting in stiches.
Yes he knew that stuff was going to happen.
