If your on the sick, how long do you need to claim for before you get the enhanced rate?

Also, do they have a right to close your claim if a) they did not ask for a medical note b) you send a note say two or three days late?

If they close your claim does that mean the time dont count for getting the higher pay rate?

A year for the enhanced rate, but you can apply for Disability Living Allowance after six months.

Its up to you to make sure you get your medical note in on time, simple enough, as you can see the date on the previous one. Your claim won't be closed if your note is a couple of days late, as doctors often will not issue a new certificate until after the date the old one expired.
