Yes, bahrain is not a bad place.
In all Muslim countries there is a strictness on dressing.
And it is better for you cover your self descently.
Many woman are working there.
So, no problem in working there.
Women's political rights in Bahrain saw an important step forward when women were granted the right to vote and stand in national elections for the first time in 2002's election. However, no women were elected to office in that year’s polls and instead Shīˤa and Sunnī Islamists dominated the election, collectively winning a majority of seats. In response to the failure of women candidates, six were appointed to the Shura Council, which also includes representatives of the Kingdom’s indigenous Jewish and Christian communities. The country's first female cabinet minister was appointed in 2004 when Dr. Nada Haffadh became Minister of Health, while the quasi-governmental women's group, the Supreme Council for Women has been training female candidates to take part in 2006's general election. When Bahrain was elected to head the United Nations General Assembly in 2006 it appointed lawyer and women's rights activist Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa as the President of the United Nations General Assembly, only the third woman in history to head the world body.

you'll do just fine.. I live just 30min away from Bahrain over in SaudiARabia and I visit Bahrain often during the months.. Its a much more relaxed atmosphere than SaudiArabia.. Religious wise.. There are many CHristians there. Western dress is permitted.. unlike in SaudiArabia where you are required to wear a black cloak over your clothing.. In Bahrain.. normal western wear is fine.. I see all kinds in the malls.. This is mostly accepted in the large capital city of Manama.. Now if you go out into the villages you might want to dress a little more concervatively, but still western dress is fine, if you have a loose fitting non see through shirt that covers most (no middriff cut off shirts).. No mini skirts, or short shorts.. Ive seen many women wearing burmuda shorts/ or those cargo shorts that come down to the knees. But nothing tight mind you. Whats funny, is I see some muslim girls going to the extreme and wearing skin tight blue jeans like they were painted on with denim paint but covering their hair with a scarf, such hypocrites.. haha! Women can travel alone, they drive there, also there are taxi and bus services. Rights? I assume if you are a citizen you can vote, but you wont be there long enough. Its an extremely safe country.. You'll have fun.. enjoy!

Women in Bahrein are safe and free to wear what they like (with minimum decency). They can work. They have their right and they can travel alone if they are not Bahreinis. Do not worry about moving there, it's one of the best places in Persian Gulf after Dubai. Alcohol is available in hotels, and it is considered a liberal country in this part of the world.

ok here to help u sweety don't fret.. :)
i searched n reasearched n asked around, .. u better carry a burqa with u.. they have strict rules regarding what women wear in public n how they behave, u have right to vote n all n the night life isn't bad at all, but it isn't like total freedom. so be cautious, cover urself modestly n u will be safe n fine. all the best. :) that is what i gathered. i have given u correct info n can't answer the rest of questions as i don't know the answer for sure.

Ask a travel agent they may be able t give you the information you need. Or maybe do a bit of research about the country to find out their customs and culture.
