I would work with the staff to look at what tasks they needed to acheive, how they planned to do this and the time scale they thought they might need to do this. As well as this I would look at any barriers they thought they might face and how to address these. It would also be important to look at how important and urgent tasks were and prioritise them based on this. You could then agree with the staff members themselves how often you would check in with them to monitor progress. As a supervisor you could also say that you would make yourself available for any enquiries they might have in completing their task and offering any support as appropriate.

You need to assess what the task involves. Then, if there are 3 people in your group, you need to delegate 3 jobs to those people and instruct them on how to complete it correctly in the most time efficient manner. You need to have good communication skills to supervise others. Time management is a factor you will need to consider. Brainstorm with your group and make a lsit of all tasks that need to be completed, then prioritise them with the most important things done first by as many people as possible. Also need to consider the talents of each individual in your group and what they are capable of. Supervising staff can also include performance appraisal, where you need to evaluate if your staff are working correctly, have enough knowledge of their job and are happy in their job. You will need to hold meetings with your staff to discuss jobs, performances, any worries or complaints and news/updates. Praise your staff when they do a good job and make sure if they do the wrong thing, you show them the right way for next time. You could also be in charge of rosters for your staff, making sure all tasks and shifts are covered fairly. Make yourself approachable so they can come to you at any time.

Hope this helps a little!
