I have started taking folic acid a week ago and I was wunderin whether if I didnt get pregnant 4 a few months will I need 2 tke anuva 400 mg or will stay in my body until i conceive a child???

Congrats on the trying to concieve....Folic acid should be in your system for at at least 6 months b4 becoming pregnant to help your baby's chances.

Women have been having babies since the beginning of the human race and there was no need for it before. I think as long as you eat a healthy diet you will be fine. Please note I'm not against taking folic acid I just dont see it as being essential,what is meant to be will be. Good luck.

You should keep taking 400mg a day. And you will need to keep taking your prenatals through your pregnancy and after if you plan to breastfeed. Unless you have a perfectly balanced, healthy diet (which most people in the US don't), then I would keep up the supplements. Why risk the health of your baby?

drink orange juice, kidney beans are a good source too.
