Noone smokes in the vehicle and even after you have just cleaned it it's like it fogs back up. Is there anything you can do to get rid of that film? It's almost like you never even cleaned it.

Though the vehicle may have a leaking heater core (check for a wet floor board or excessive amount of fluid draining from the firewall area onto the ground), the most likely cause is the dash board itself. The vinyl on the dashboard is constantly releasing chemicals into the air and some of it does settle onto the windshield causing a fog to appear. Unfortunately the automakers know of this and they do not have a good fix for it. Just wash down the dash as often as possible and keep cleaning the windshield.

Are you getting any hint of the smell of coolant?
I've had several cars where this happened and it was usually the first sign that something in the Cooling System (everything from a simple hose to larger parts) was starting to go and was causing coolant to leak into the vents. If that's what it is, it will get progressively worse until the part fails completely.
This is only a possibility, but probably worth checking out ASAP to save a small problem from becoming a major part failure.

Try plain water with a little white vinegar in it. Make sure you clean inside and outside the windshield. Good Luck!

your heater core has a hole in it and it is letting a film of antifreeze to get on your windshield you probably have a sweet smell inside the car to but just didn't notice it, I would go to an auto parts store and get a can of bars stop leak and conditioner and try using that first before paying someone allot of money to change the heater core , sometimes it works and sometimes it don't goood luck.

I have found the best windshiel cleaner to be a mix of 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water and use regular newspaper to dry it it will seem like you will never get it dry but it will not streak also avoid putting any type of armorall or other brand of stuff on your dash. i have found that once you use these things you have to keep on useing these things wipe your dash with a damp rag. i you will use one of the reflecter type sun shades it will help also. the sun beating on the dash releases the chem. in the dask material. I have been a detailer for 20 years and my stuff is tight

Condensation causes the screen to fog-up, try using the air conditioner, or drive with the rear window down half way, but don't forget to wind it up when you leave the vehicle!

You could try washing your windscreen with a mild solution of vingegar and warm water then polish up with a soft cloth. This worked for me when my son washed the car windows with car wax shampooo.
