I hate U2...self rightous bunch of muppets...
Mr. Everyone-else-should-feel-guilty-because-of-the-poverty-in-the-world-Bonio:
U2 facts...U2facts.....U2facts.....U2facts....
Cocktails in the Octogan bar (he owns it in Dublin) $20
Rooms in his hotel $500-$2000
Tickets to see U2 - $100-$1000
Hot Dog at gig: $10+
Bottle of water: $10
Listening to an aging rocker re-sing the two decent songs he wrote over 20 years ago for the 27,000 time....PRICELESS
No wonder there is so much poverty, everyone who has anything to do with U2 from a fan point of view is blooming broke....
May I just interject a further 'grrrrrrrrrrr' at this point and be done with it

I believe it's an ear for music. There's just some groups and/or songs that just do't make my listening list. One of them is U2 also. If you're flawed I guess I'm flawed as well. Hey let's start a flawed club. That would be better then a I don't like U2 club. And it's more pc also. And I wouldn't even try doing splits. Ouch!

I don't think it's a flaw. I think that it's called taste.
Someone on here was talking about going to see the Rolling Stones concert this month. I was a huge Rolling Stones fan through the 70's and into the mid to late 80's. And though I might give a nostalgic smile at hearing one of their hard rocking songs from the 60's. I can't be bothered to listen to them anymore. I don't think that they are relevant to this time, or to my life.
Perhaps it's the same with you and U2.

I like maybe three or four of their songs that are over 15 years old. I'm frustrated by the fact that everyone seems to LOVE U2, and I can't understand why. Same thing with the Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer.

Maybe you've lived with someone who constantly listened to U2 and so you got sick of it. It's the only logical conclusion i can think of!
To be honest i didn't like them at first either.. After trying out their albums on my own, joshua tree and achtung baby (and after some separation time from my u2 roomate), i became a fan.

Well, I like their song "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and have listened to some of their albums but I can't actually name another song they do.
I kind of felt the same way as you but about "Trooper"...until I had free tickets to a concert and saw them. I was surprised to enjoy the show and now when a Trooper song comes on the radio I can appreciate their talent it even more.
My bf hates CCR and I find that really weird.

My little sister loves U2. She gets all hyper when she drinks it and jumps around and does splits like you do. She tries to get me to drink it to give me a pickup but it's just too darn chocholatey for me so I just freebase cocaine when I need some extra energy.

It is not a "flaw", simply your personal preference. I did not like them (U2) when they 1st came out, but find a few of their albums in my collection a "must have"

I guess you mean the band, not the spy plane... I'm not a big fan either, but their music added a lot to that movie with Tommy Lee Jones as the crazy Irish bomber.

I do not like U2 either.
I think I have one of their CD's (that i downloaded, of course)
But I dont think I oculd name even one of their songs.
Their music is too slow and boring for me.
