I agree with medium_of_dance - Paul Whitehouse was the writing force behind Harry Enfield's success, and when they went their seperate ways you could see where the talent was...... Harry did increasingly unfunny things while Paul went on to co-create The Fast Show.

All comedians go through a stage of drying up and becoming unfunny. I suppose it's one way to recharge their batteries, ready for the phase of their careers. As it the case of Harry Enfield I believed he has now diversified into another field of entertainment.
Even the biggest comedian of them all Tony Blair has dried up and it'll take more that a battery charger to bring him back to life.

I liked some of his characters, Savros, loads of money, Perry & Kevin, the slobs, but I think like most people he had his day and now being a middle aged man, he just ain't hip anymore, thats life, he has to go to make room for the next batch of comedians coming through
