Inspiring change....how does he react to resistance to change
or if he doesn't believe in a change can he still sell the vision

when he's making a change does he plan the change do the change and then review the change

his leadership skills...does he take people with him do people want to be led by him

when he gives you feedback does he praise more than criticise
does he give negative feedback in a high low high fashion....known as the sandwich

is he a team player, is he always able to see the bigger picture in a new idea or change

hope this gives you something to go on

My biggest complaint about even the best managers I've had is their communication skills. I like to know what the bigger agenda is for the company so I know where my role fits in. It makes me feel more useful and gives my job more purpose if I feel like I have a meaningful role in the bigger plan.

Is he mentoring you well? Do you feel that he's giving you extra work or information that eventually will help you get promoted into the next position?

Does he handle conflict within your department well and address the problems or ignore them?

Hope this helps but you're really lucky have someone who you can't think of negative things about!

Surely a company should value honesty, if you can not honestly think there is a problem with any of these areas then you should say so.
