Using bleach might help, blueing in your rinse water will definitely help. My best advice is if you can to hang them in the sun. The sun has a very strong bleaching power, and it will also add a crispness and a fresh smell back into your sheets. I know it is getting to be Spring/Summer where you are so the sunny days should be on your side.

Another thing you could try, although I have never done it with sheets. I use this method for getting stains out of fine laces. Buttermilk. Buttermilk has a gentle bleaching effect that will not harm delicate laces. Then rinse well and wash as ususal.

I still think the sun is the way to go.

Soak them in OxyClean and water overnight. Then wash them with detergent that has OxyClean in it..They should be very white. Bleach can eat them up eventually. My white cotton sheets are going on 15 years and are soft and smooth like glass. I have always used an Oxygen enzyme on them.. first Biz ..then Oxyclean...never chlorine bleach.

Use bleach and bluing, and add a little starch to the rinse water for crispness.

Try boiling them when you do your washing, with a good detergent. Beats all the bleaches etc, these only make the sheets rotten.
