Can anyone tell me what qualifications she thinks she has to be President, other than an oversized ego? What does she know about foreign policy, for example? Can anyone explain her appeal to me? To me, she's America's Cherie Blair, if not worse.

To answer your question in a word: ego. I used to love her but I don't think she's aware enough that the US is still suffering a bit of a Hilary hangover 6 years on. She thinks she's ready for the White House but the White House and the nation aren't ready for her. As much as I think it's sad, I just don't think America is ready for any President that isn't the typical white male.

As far as her knowledge goes though, she is very smart. Her biggest flaw is thinking she's the smartest person in a room and not trying to understand other points of view. I agree that she is worse than Cherie because at least Cherie didn't use her husband to gain her own selfish power. I think of Hilary more like Evita.

Look at it this way:

Our next President MUST have not only intelligence, but the intelligence to seek out - and listen to - the right kind of advice. If Hillary makes it into the Oval Office, do you really believe that she won't turn to Bill and ask for advice about situations he has experience with? Of course she will !

Having Bill in the background might just be the best thing that could happen to this Country right now as far as gaining back the global respect we've lost during Bush Jr.'s administration. No matter how "powerful" we like to see ourselves as, we can not function effectively as long as we continue to be hated by so many other countries.

Would you rather see a Bush wannabe running this Country ?

The fact that she's about 20 times better educated and more knowledgeable about global culture than the current serving President

Why not a woman President? As much as I hate to admit it for a while here in Britain Maggie Thatcher made the England/American pact thing look like a 50/50 deal, and not like at the moment as an American lapdog. She has a husband that to a lot of people around the world was one of the best President's America ever had, and to have him as a sounding board must be some kind of an advantage over other candidate's. She understands how the White House works, and in the case of the current President, she does have a brain which doesn't need to be fed lines of copy through a earpiece (and then still screw up the speech!). Could it possibly be any worse than what you have now...

Your 110% right. And a Democrat to boot. You can bet that enough dumb people will vote for her, particularly feminist females. (There are such things as male feminists, I know, sad.) Americas enemies will relish in such a victory, because the Democrats will not defend America against her enemies, particularly after Iraq. You have to wonder at the fickleness of voters who can switch political allegiance ( which is supposed to be a pretty fundamental thing) because of the Iraq war. As in Britain, is it yet another triumph for the brain washing power of the left leaning TV media and other acolytes, such as left leaning teachers.

Read any book about Hillary and you will quickly find out that she is as far right as you get! She is absolutely a conservative! That is not what is hard for me to swallow...it is her lies and arrogance and doing-saying whatever to get elected that disturbs me....but again, we are talking politics. Sad, isn;t it? That the one single most powerful and prestigious political appointments in the world and we as Americans usually choose the lesser of two evils rather than someone who will truly make a difference

The image of USA among world is at such low now due to Bush and his intervention in Iraq and innocents' killings there.Any other woman or man will be able to better the image of USA in the world.Hillary Clinton has the charm and minimum intelligence required to make herself popular. What else you want?
There is no American policy as such,it is only creating war, selling arms and killing muslims.Anybody can do it.

Hubris. Anyone who thinks they really want the job should probably be barred from seeking it. Only a crazy person would put up with the crap you have to take from the other side once you get it.

I think she'd make a great president... she manage the Whole Lewinsky thing very well, and the people of New York thought she's worth their vote... let there be a woman in the white house! I'm sure she will do a much better job then G.W.Bush.
