Come on! There in no way replaced into an Achilles - The call comes from a narrative appropriate to the trojan war. a actual for particular historic guy or woman replaced into the two Alexander the total or Genghis Khan. Take your p.c.. one had the best empire in the previous Christ, the different conquered all of Asia and part of Europe around 900 years in the past.

Well this can only be answered from personal perspective of course. It's all conditional on what we as individuals consider to be "great" and "warrior".

Anyway, I think there is no one person, but maybe a top 3 or 5 or something. In my top 3 I would place:

(1) King David (who killed Goliath)
(2) Field Marshal Montgomery
(3) Paul of Tarsus

I guess the list is endless for so many reasons. :-)

I would have to say no, since he died to due his impertinece. For me, I would have to say Cu Chulainn, or the Hound of Ulster. He died fighting until the last, and he embodies everything a man should want to be: Fearless in the face of danger, loving to his wife, and loyal to his friends, even when they were enemies. He also did somthing no other hero has done: He held off an entire army by himself to defend his country. And when I say by himself, I mean it was just him. He held back the armies of three proviences in Ireland, and did it without relying on dirty tactics.

After that, I would have to say it would come down between Beowulf of the Geats, or Leonidas of the Spartans at Thermopolye.

I would have to say Beowulf, there was seemingly nothing he couldn't do, I loved that story(yes I know it was really a poem) and It help inspire Tolkien to develop his works as well.
