I think it's weird too. I think they move because they know that the west is a better place to live, more money, better healthcare, better education, and tolerant of religious diversity.

But some of them, when they arrive, they complain about how immoral it is and how it conflicts with their religious ideals and corrupts their children.

It's all part of the same package, if you don't want to be 'tainted' by our immorality or have your children growing up in our culture, you shouldn't move here. If you move to another country you should be respectful of their culture. If you don't agree with it don't go.

What is the 'free west'?

The truth is we don't have the freedom. It's a myth designed to make 'us' feel superior and 'them' inferior.

Eastern societies include Japan, Australia, South Korea etc. and those are all pretty free, democratic places to live. The idea of a free west is just another division between 'us' and 'them' for our governments to exploit.

Some countries give more freedom to their peoples than others. Freedom is normally dictated by wealth, nations like China are becoming more prosperous and their people are becoming more demanding of freedom.

Long live the revolution, Bentleys for everyone!

This attitude is quite common now a days. Sad part is, its an INCREDIBLY misinformed attitude.

I know you're talking about Muslims, I can tell from your other posts.

Muslims do not hate freedom or modernity.

They can and might protest against things that seem immoral to them. THEY CAN because they have this right. That is America.

Just like christian conservative groups BASH immoral content on tv, failing american schools, immoral things in general, materialism. I've seen it myself -- I get several preacher stations on my TV here.

So if a Muslim in the U.S. gives a speech in his mosque talking about how strip clubs are bad, how their youth shouldn't drink, or how muslims should dress modestly -- WHATS WRONG WITH THAT? They're only following their religion. Its not like they're imposing it on anyone.

If you have a problem with what they're saying, then so be it. But if you have so many problems that you feel that they should leave for simply expressing their opinion, THEN YOU HAVE INSECURITY ISSUES.

The fact is its a free world. People say/do things. Not everyone will like it. The only thing that can have someone kicked from a country is when they break its laws.

And I'll ask that you treat everyone fairly. After all, the Amish have been living in dutch pennsylvania for 100+ years, if anyone hates modernity, its them. But I accept them, and I'm okay with them living next to me.

Media glorifies the west, which causes people to move to the west without actually knowing what it is like.

lol kinda funny isn't it? You always have the people that sit there and complain about how bad things are but yet they have the option to fix it. In this case it would be, don't come to the west or leave.

They think the grass is greener. If they don't like it though, I wish they would just go back and stop trying to change it to their own ways!
