If you're in England - visit your local Business Link, or log on to the web site www.businesslink.gov.uk - it (and they) have everything you need to start and grow your online business - and there may be some funding to help you.

Not sure if you'll like this advice but....

You want to minimise the chance of losing lots of money early on and you want to try and judge your customer base and what they want.

Start on ebay. Set up an online shop there and see what sells and what doesn't.

Once you have that knowledge just set up a basic webpage and include payment options from Paypal (www.paypal.com)

If you're still trading after that and making money - approach the small business advisor at your bank and show him your results. They might fund you and give you more professional advice.

Let me know how you get on!

Teddy

I suggest that the best way to do this would be to go to a service provider. The company that will give you all the software for making your site together with an e-commerce site ,hosting etc and is probably the best is 1and1
