Yes, I believe we are safer. Now the rest of the world can see that the majority of Americans disapprove of the way that this war and our country has been run. The world breathed a sigh of relief when congress changed parties, read the papers, listen to the radio or tv, it is what they are all saying. Democrats are for the people, and right now the most important people are those soldiers that are fighting a war seemingly without end. There will be no cuts in military spending while this is going on, more than likely a repeal of the tax cuts for the wealthy with the money going into providing better armament for our soldiers. We will get them home faster and they will be better protected while they are there.

First, it was a huge thing that Democrats won last night (YEA for the good guys!!!) but we still have the same President, who is so set in his ways to make it appear that the Democrats will fail that the first thing he does is throw his Secretary of Defense under the bus. That way when anyone investigates the secrecy and lies of this administration, Bush can blame everything on Rumsfield. Like a true coward. As for whether we are safer or not, I never felt safe under Bush! He made his presidency based on fear management. I think the whole reason the nation turned against the Republicans is that everyone is essentially tired of being afraid

Are we safer no. Are we going to be more popular with France and Germany. Yes. Do they really care about us ? No. As far as the tax issue raised by one of your answerer's, Pelosi, Kerry, Dean, and Gore have all stated they want to raise taxes., Another conveniently left out the Carter years when our economy crumbled and there was gas rationing. All that will happen different is welfare will increase. Pay scale for workers will go up. Cost of goods will rise with the payroll increase ( I was in management for years. As soon as wages increased we raised or costs on our merchandise) That puts the shaft on the elderly and others with fixed incomes. The war in Iraq. According to the democrats 6 point plan they plan to increase the amount of troops in Iraq. Didn't yell that too much during the elections did they. If they pull out right away, count on another 911type attack. The militants hate Atheists and Christians above all other things. If anyone thinks we can negotiate with them they are just plain afraid of the truth.

The world is not unsafe due to anything the democrats can or may do or anything the Republicans have or have not done or may yet do. There are many more factors and players in the scenario and most of the major ones were extant long before the political parties in the USA began their existences.

the bigger evil has been removed.

all the so called "dems will raises taxes, blah blah" is old talk from the 1940's. Its all the Reps have on them and its their only foot to stand on. And its been their only argument forever.

But everyone forgets....Bush Sr. lied about taxes and then raised them. Was the 2nd highest tax raise in American history. Know who did the highest? Another Republican.

Now blow you mind even more over your so called party. What the Reps stand for today...the Dems use to stand for. What the Dems stand for today, the Reps use to. Check your history.

Funny is the Dem's controled the houses for a good 40 yrs and it was the best times in America. The Reps have had it for the past 12 and its in a total shambles, highest defict ever, borrowing 2 billion a week from China...an ex arch enemy. Started a war for nothing but lies. Yea...Dems are so bad.

Actually know the facts and don't just believe the hype you hear on TV, etc. Those jokers are hoping for ignorant folks that won't go past their words and learn the truth.

Never seen so many poor losers as I have seen in Republicans after this election. Like a pool of toddlers all crying over who peed in the pool.

Things will get worse before they get worse. More flower child Kum By Yah diplomacy only will embolden the psychothug jihadi fanatics and enable them to greatly increase the mischief and murder against the West. They will own Europe by 2050. That will give them control of France's nuclear arsenal. There is a thought to help one sleep at night.

I think the only result of the Democrat succes in the elections will be that Bashed Bush will be a bit more restrained.
