I had some proper dodgy ones.
The worst was when I was really little (5-6) and had some proper black sandshoes with the big chunk of elastic on the front (oh the shame!)
I also remember a short craze for 'Patrick Ewing' baseball boots that were blue & fluorescent orange.
Everyone used to pop the bubble in Nike airmax trainers to make them more squashy. I remember they were really hard to pop and a few kids got injured while trying to force various sharp implements into their feet.
It right (above) that all the dunlop / puma trainers that we wouldn't have been seen dead in in the 80's are now the height of fashion.
Perhaps it's a conspiracy? All those Danny-Dunlops that nobody would buy sat in a warehouse for 20 years with some sly retailer thinking "Just wait till I can flog them as 'retro'!!!!!"

I had Arrow trainer boots and everyone thought they were so cool....NO NO ohh how wrong we were !!
I'm scared for life because of the things my mum would make me wear,I don't even want to think about it.....
Have you noticed everything is coming back into fashion that we thought was really sad.

I'm too old to have worn trainers but my kids do and they have to be the latest fashion apparently so I still end up paying for something I will never wear.

one minor thing. what is this meant to do with football?
anyway i have been lucky with my trainers, nike ones are good for me. i dont care about labels though, if they are comfortable and are not disgusting i will wear them. you have to be that way when you are a size 13 (adult)
