use mild laxatives after consulting you nearby pharmacist or doctor.
Then you can consult your dietician to get a fiber rich diet chart and start taking it.All the best!!

I am not sure if you mean you the mother, or your baby?
You are suffering constipation I assume. You don't say if you are trying to pee or poo.
Increase the amount of water you are drinking in a day. Especially if you are breastfeeding. Your fluids are used by the breastfeeding baby. So you need extra water. Drink 10-12 8oz glasses of water a day.
Try taking in food that has fiber - bran, whole wheat cereals. This will help soften the stool. Eat prunes, and fresh fruit.
You can also try to use a glycerin suppository from the drugstore that will stimulate your bowel to go.
Avoid laxatives.
If you are talking about not peeing for three or four days you need to see a doctor.
Take care and take care of yourself.

After childbirth, I had really bad tears (4th degree, the worse you can have) and therefore was given stool softeners in the hospital so I wouldn't tear my stitches. I took one stool softener with every meal for about four days and then just one stool softener a day for about 2 months. If I had more bread than usual at a meal, I would take an extra pill. Don't push hard because you can cause problems if you're still healing from giving birth.

I would avoid any laxatives.. They can cause cramping on top of the cramping you are probably having from needing to use the restroom...
Yes increase your water and fiber, although that doesn't always work.. I agree with the stool softener use... They make several kinds..... Some being all natural such as the liquid Senokot that I have had to use for my daughter// That brand is also available in pill form.... But for myself I used the gel pills.. Especially when I was having to take iron pills.. I would take them as recommended until they worked.. Then I would take one every other morning to keep from being that way again. They are not for long term use but I felt one taken every other day was not harmful.. You will have to be judge of your dose and how often to take one.. You may only need one every 3 days..I continued using them as I described for a couple of weeks.. You will be able to tell when not to take one.. or when you can stop taking them.. Your body will eventually straighten its functions back out.. but softeners sure helped take the fear and dread out of going to the restroom.

because of the section this question is in, I would say that you have just recently given birth, and that is how I am going to answer it...(just in case I am assuming wrong, this is)
After child birth it can hurt quite a bit, my partner said (after both boys) that I sounded like I was going through labour all over again. It does get better, and a shower afterward used to help me.
Also, I needed very mild laxatives afterward, because I trouble up to a week later.
