If the assessment years are different for the two returns, then you can file them at a time. But you cannot file two returns for one assessment year.
You can file two returns for the same year in case if the first return is defective, then you can file another return as revised return correcting the defects in the first return.

uYes , you can file two returns at a time. For example by 31.3.2007 , you can file return for Asst Yr 2005-06 and 2006-07.
For Asst Yr 2005-06, yop will have to file an explanation why the return as filed late , otherwise , the A.O may impose penalty of Rs 5000 u/s 271F of the I T Act.

U can do so. u vill have to pay fine for the last year only if there was a tax liability if no then no fine.
u can also file for next yr( advance tax return)

There is noting to panic about filling the return. Slowly go through all the columns. First time do it in pencil. The columns are elaborate but interlinked. thats all.

yup you can file, one belated return and one regular return under section 139 of IT Act (i guess).... its long time i havent touched IT Books!!!!!
