Considering the fact that we have yet to lose as many soldiers in this entire war as the average number lost in a week in Viet Nam, I would have to say a resounding, NO. There is also the fact that our current military is 100% volunteer and 80% of the men and women in Viet Nam were drafted. And let's not forget about all those who dodged the draft back then, including a whole bunch of Kennedy's and Bill Clinton. Oh wait, didn't John Kerry serve and get all those fake medals?

Viet Nam and Iraq are NOTHING alike.

There's one striking similarity -- in both cases, the antics of the loony anti-war left have emboldened our enemy in Iraq, just as it emboldened our enemy in Vietnam.

North Vietnamese military leaders from the war are on record as saying that the anti-war protesters in America were, to the Viet Cong, a great ally in the war.

A similar situation is happening in Iraq -- our enemy knows that there are a lot of people in America who are undermining our war on terror. Some of these underminers even hold elected office as well as influential positions in the media.

It's one thing to disagree with the war -- but it's quite another thing to hurl the most vicious names imaginable at our president and at our troops.

All of this is only improving the morale and resolve of our enemy -- which is exactly what happened in Vietnam. Even the Viet Cong's own leaders admit as such.

Yes. They both are similar, but I have to boil them down to one thing-a brutal and bloody quagmire in each case.
