Arsenal is not a valid answer( for obvious reasons, such as the fact that there useless and are not exactly english anyway) I would also like to ask all the muppets who refer to the "we were unbeaten for a whole season" rubbish, how many games did you draw? All you achieved was to win the league wow that must make you the best club ever!

Liverpool have won more trophies than any other English team, including the most league titles (18) and the most European cups (5) with Man Utd coming second with 15 league titles and 2 European cups.
However, if you add up all of the points ever scored in the top flight of the English league, and adjust it to 2 points for a win (which is how the league has been for the majority of its existence) then up to the end of last season it looks like this:
Everton 4259 points
Liverpool 4249
Arsenal 4163
Aston Villa 3911
Man United 3832
By the way, Chelsea are in 10th place with 2944 points, 1315 points off the lead!!
On that basis, in a couple more seasons Liverpool will probably be top of that table as well with Arsenal and Everton close behind.
I reckon on balance it's hard to deny Liverpool the crown, but then I would say that ;)

Man Utd and Liverpool.
Liverpool have won more trophy's but the treble was amazing. If Chelsea can't do it with all the money they have, then they suck.
When Arsenal went unbeated they were very lucky with ref decisions and were cheating assholes.

Liverpool have more European Championships (5, vs 2 for Man U and Notts F), and more League/Premiership titles (18, vs 15 for Man U) than any other club. For me, that makes them the greatest ever.
