What is success ? How do you measure it? Is it an absolute figure? Is there a limit to it, say after achieving that you have nothing else to do. So what is your goal? Decide. Then what measures you need to take to achive the goal can be worked out. Your objectives should be "SMART". i.e.S imple, M easurable, A chievable, R ealistic and T ime Bound
S imple- You want to become a doctor or Lawyer.
M easurable- Don't state I want to be respected, successful.
Say you want to earn about Rs. 10 lakhs per month
Achievable - If dream of becoming Prime Minister you shall be
disappointed. You have to be practical
Realistic - It should be poosible for you to achieve within
given time frame. If you want to do a degree
course in six months- not possible.
Time Bound- You should have time bound targets to achieve the
goal. If you want to have a factory in your name it
shall not be achieved unless you work out a time
bound schedule.
Follow these simple rules, you shall succeed. Don't compare with others. Your success may be different than some body else's and only your success matters to you, not what Anil Ambani or Bill Gates does.
