Turmeric is ubiquitous in ayurvedic cooking. It contains the flavanoid curcumin, which is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. This all-around wonder spice is said to help detoxify the liver, balance cholesterol levels, fight allergies, stimulate digestion, boost immunity and enhance the complexion. It is also an antioxidant. Ayurveda recognizes it as a heating spice, contributing bitter, pungent and astringent tastes.

What I haven't seen here yer is Turmeric's use on Boils and Folliculitis. Make a paste of the Turmeric with a healthy fat like Virgin Coconut Oil or Olive Oil, apply to boil and cover. Usually within an hour or two the boil will have drained. Then sprinkle some Turmeric on the wound that is left, along with some Manuka Honey and you would have complete healing very quickly. Turmeric is miraculous, plain and simple.

Warning: Turmeric should not be taken by those who have been diagnosed with gallstones or obstruction of the bile passages without explicit direction from a qualified practitioner.
The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which has been the subject of numerous animal studies—but as of yet, very few studies on people—demonstrating various medicinal properties. Curcumin has been shown, for example, to stimulate the production of bile and to facilitate the emptying of the gallbladder. It has also demonstrated in animals a protective effect on the liver, anti-tumor action, and ability to reduce inflammation and fight certain infections. check the source website for more
