Can someone help me decide what's a good gaming Laptop for under $1300? I know about Alienware and Dell. I'm looking for something with a 1.8- 2.0 Ghz processor duo, 1Gb Ram, Geofroce 7900 or equivalent (256mb- 512mb) graphics card, 80Gb HDD, wireless LAN, etc. etc.

Not likely, sorry. The 7400 is junk for gaming, as is the X1600 the other guy was talking about. They will play games on moderate settings, but if you want good performance on games from a laptop, you need at least a Radeon X1800 or a GeForce 7800, anything lower is just not going to cut it. To be honest, gaming laptops are just not practical unless you have a $2000+ budget.

The Acer Aspire 5674

I know its a bit more expensive but looking at the specs...its definitely worth it. 2GB memory, 120GB HD, HDDVD drive, ATI Mobility X1600 (very powerful laptop card). This laptop has probably everything you could ask for.

The Geforce 7400 or Ati X1400 are not very powerful cards. My laptop has an X700 which is much better than those two(I've checked them out on my friends' laptops). You wont be able to enjoy any of the latest games on that.

Or you could look for other laptops, but make it a Ati X1600 or Nvidia 7600 atleast, if you want any decent gaming from it.

hi, 1st of all, an ati x1600 is more then enough just like the 7600 for gaming, then if u want to save ur money go for the asus s96j : t5500 core 2 duo, 1024mb ddr2 667, ati x1600 with 256 (dedicated) for about 1100 usd. but for the 7900gs the cheapest lappy u can find is the dell 9400 for 1340 usd.
i hope it was helpfull.

Well, to start it's not really an oxymoron, it just depends on what kind and type of game(s) you will be playing.

You may want to try the:
Gateway MX7525 - Mobile Athlon 64 4000+ 2.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT (ATI Radeon X600 with up to 256MB HyperMemory)
It's listed under $1000 online.

However, expect to be paying more for newer models with faster cpu, graphics chipset, etc.

Hope this helps.

No such factor as a decrease priced one for gaming, no longer yet in any case , you could anticipate to pay a pair of one thousand kilos for one in case you save around . ASUS do laptops in that funds . If its sensible for you get a tower variety , elementary to enhance and set up each and all of the main modern-day aspects for to days video games .
