I have to say books. This is because they go into more detail and give you more background information so that you know the reason why. However don’t get me wrong the film versions of some books are very good but it all depends on the producer and how they put it together. Take Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings, very good film and the books are good, he obviously is a huge Tolkien fan.
I read Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code before I went to see the film and I have to admit the film wasn’t a patch on the book. Similarly The Devil wears Prada, I loved the book and even though the film was good, I thought that the book was much better.
With a film I appreciate that you can’t cover all the aspects as you can in a book, so you need to get the main parts in. But when reading the book you conjure up your own ideas and pictures of how the characters should be etc, and then when the film comes out unless it is a brilliant version you always feel as if more could have been done and you’ve been a bit short charged
