i think the qustion is will she even be able to register it from abroad and if she does, will she even be able to use it from the uk, id register it for her, and just explain the the person you speak to that it is for your daughter and that she may want to change details eg password.

I'd register it before the holidays at home. Also, if she is over 18 then she'll have to register it herself, but if she is under 18 you'll have to do it for her anyway.

I'm guessing its a pay as you go - you have to register in UK Becoz it wont work abroad. If its a contract, you still have to register in UK for its Original line, but it would work anywhere in the world!
expensive though!
I hope you got an Orange line because they are offering free evening calls on pay n go!
have a G8 Christmas!

better for you to register it. also, let the Customer Service Rep. know that you are going abroad so they can program it to be used there too. make sure you follow the CSR's instructions on getting the phone updated correctly while you're abroad.

For Your Knowledge
HOW TO DISABLE A STOLEN MOBILE PHONE?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the
following digits on
your phone:
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number
is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere
safe.
Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your
service provider and give them this code. They will then be
able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least
you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.
