Brown paper is the key, I respect those who have said use an iron but you dont want to risk burning your carpet, especially if the area is small and most likely the sourrounding carpet may stick to your iron... Use a hairdryer instead- yes honey, its that simple!

Use kitchen roll paper place over wax on carpet then place tea towel> hot iron over top this will heat up the wax and the paper towel should absorb the wax and take it off. Or if not happy about using iron use a hair dryer over the top of the paper towel.

You get that thick brown paper that you normally but bread and rolls in, get an iron, put the brown paper bag over the wax and then iron ( no steam) over the bag. Candles are made of wax which is like fat. You will notice the oily patches it brings up. Just keep doing that till its all gone.

did the same thing last winter on carpet and ottoman.

cut open some brown paper bags from grocery so they are single sheets. warm up your iron and get down to some hard core ironing.

the iron will remelt the wax and the brown bags will absorb it. patience is the key. year later and I have no mark where mine spilt, not even a dirt trail like most stains.

works well.

I have been using paper towels and a warm iron for years. this only takes a matter of minutes. the paper towels absorb all wax and no film is left. change the towel as needed as you go.
