I have a 1998 renault megane coupe in the top right hand side of my dash board display just above the rev counter a new warning light i have never seen before has come on it's yellow in a square box and looks slightly like a heart monitor ant ideas

i am not sure what the light is.. but under NO circumstances do i recommend you disconnecting the battery like ppl have said to.. you can do damage to computers and or loose program info...if you look in your owners manuel it will tell you what each dash light is for .

It means get it fixed before it becomes a red light. It is more likely a computer problem and you can disconnect a battery cable for 30 minutes and the computer will reset itself. A mechanic isn't cheap so this is worth a try first.

Take it to a repair shop and ask them how much to repair it. When the mechanic tell you how much, then ask him what's wrong with your car. This is better than guessing.
