The goldfish is swimming fine , fins good, gills good, he has one eye that has started to protrude from his head. and these 2 lumps under his skin above his head. they are not symmetrically placed so i'm sure they shouldn't be there. what is it and how can i cure him?

i think they must be some kind of tumours. Usually these are incurable but you can extend your fish's lifespan by keeping it well fed and in a healthy environment. If your goldfish is really old then these could be natural growth which males could develop sometime.

I think the cause is due to the water condition. The water has too much nitrate. You must change your water immediatly. Remember to add anti-chorine.
This illness is hard to cure, you need to depend on the fish itself. Try to add some salt, about 0.3%.

its a parasite and I'm afraid that there is no cure as far as i know. I'm sorry your gold fish is gonna visit the toilet soon.

one of my fish had this problem and im no fish expert but i would reccommend you clean the fishes water and isolate him temorarily from other fish. hope hes ok :-). my fish was ok despite getting lumps too

its probably a growth go to a pet store n ask a vet what u should buy they will tell you
