it's okay to go in head first for a girl with a very attractive facade. physical attraction plays an important role too. but if you seriously want to focus more on their inner personality, then you should start practicing being an excellent listener. get to know the "real" woman inside your date. you'll appreciate her more that way. let her do most of the talking.

You may still admire a pretty face, just make sure you also find one attractive feature on every person. Models are still always going to generally more attractive that the average person. But after you master the art of finding the most attractive feature on every girl you meet, then you will come to find out the rest of beauty from the inside that eclipses all "physical faults" and enhances that one beautiful feature.
After you have learned both of the above lessons, you will soon be shocked to learn that you have fellen in love with a certain "quirk" feature that before you would have founf unappealing. Depending on your true desire to be less shallow, it will work. And Kudos for trying to overcome a debilitating weakness. It shows a real honorable quality in you.

Try developing a greater respect for your fellow man (woman) and perhaps you will become more mature. Attitudes are often a matter of choice.
