yeah, ok USC is good at football...WOW! I went to college for academics like most of the country. I can't stand all this love for USC when UCLA is obviously academically superior (anyone who argues against this point must be chasing pipe dreams). Plus, UCLA sits in beautiful Westwood and right accross the street from USC (literally 'right accross the street') is the ghetto! This state needs to get its priorities straight- are we looking to promote football in LA or do we want our youth to go to the better school.

PS- UCLA does have 11 basketball championships (USC has none) and 99 NCAA championships (the most in the country)

In your question there is, in fact, an embedded answer. The way I see it, you´re expressing your indignation at the way Californians set their priorities and, at the same time, you´re expressing yourself in plain English.

From your point of view (and I guess most people agree with you on that; at least I do), education is much, much more important than football (actually, it´s much, much more important than sports, period). If you think of it, college football is what it is because of "college", right? So, which comes first?

They have been on par with USC for a lot of the eighty's & ninety's, even passed them a quantity of instances. Pete Carroll modified all that. The best approach they get to USC's stage is that if they shell out the money essential for a most sensible stage train. The Rick Neuheisel's, Karl Dorrell's and Bob Toledo's of the sector may not get it.

What's your point? Both are good schools. You shouldn't degrade one just to uplift the other.
