Ok, last week, I broke up with a girl whom I was in a long distance relationship with. I have not met her yet to this day. Obviously I would be pretty unpleasant and pissed off every time she calls ever since the break up. Because of that, she thinks that I want her to die. I just want to know if I am at all responsible if I just stopped talking to her and thus letting her go through with her plan.

Oh, and her family does know about this. She also said that she "ran away" from everyone so no one knows where she is.

You are not accountable for her actions...
call her parentals and let them know what she is thinking on doing...that way you have a clean conscience...most people that say they are going to kill themselves just do it and don't bother telling anyone...so i think your safe...avoid all her calls and let her move on...
she is telling you this so she can continue to manipulate the situation...tell her good bye and mean it...put your damn foot down...

Of course you are not responsible, ultimately. She is pretty unstable, not your doing, but do learn from the experience. Some people take things the wrong way, if your conscience is clear that you didn't lead her on or promise something you had no intentions of delivering, or even if you just changed your mind, you can rest a bit easier.
I do know, however, the soul searching this can lead too. So settle the matter in your own heart and your own head and move forward. I wish you both the best.
Peace.

I would assume that she is not serious about committing suicide, it's her way of trying to get you back. If she was serious she would just go ahead and do it.
You are not responsible if she does but I truly doubt that she will.
I hope that she wouldn't.

if she does something U R responsible. Hellow u may come clean but that is after 10 or 15 years. The case will go so long. So please talk with her and settle the issues or face as accused for that much longer time.

You are not accountable for her actions.
HOWEVER, if you have reasonable cause to believe she's serious, then its your responsiblity to contact the authorities and let them deal with it. So if you're in Seattle, and she's in London, its your moral responsiblity to contact the London Police on her threats of sucide

You have no liability when your ex-girlfriend will commit suicide because you have no direct participation in the crime.

No, but the decent thing to do would be to contact her family, so they will intervene. It's not your responsibilty after that.

Persuade her and cool her down. Don't distance until she understands that she has to live on her own.
If she leaves a note that you are responsible for her life, it may prove costly to you.
