Every year with my family was a memory, but my Dad worked for Kennecott Copper in McGill, Nevada and they were on strike at Christmas time one year and my Dad was in Sacramento working and he came home for Christmas.

One year also at Christmas, my Uncle Jess was in the Air Force and he just got back from Korea and my parents went to pick him up and I remember him putting down his duffel bag in Grandma's kitchen. I swear they said they had to go to Massachusetts to get him (that would have been over 2500 miles) and I didn't realize how far it was from Nevada to Massachusetts.

One other year, my brother just older than me was back east and he called my folks and told them he had made it all the way to Wendover (125 miles from home) and he couldn't get the rest of the way home cause the buses weren't running, mom and dad went and picked him up and he has sent everyones Christmas packages home, except mine and he brought it to me stuffed in his suitcase, it was a big fluffy teddy bear, about 18" tall.

I had had a bad accident, and was in the hospital. About 40 friends dropped in and held a Christmas party for me.

The year that the cats pulled down the Christmas tree repeatedly! It made my Dad so mad!! We all giggled everytime. After that he started wiring the tree to the curtain rod behind it. No fun!
