If for instance a person phones companies for work and they immediately say to that person: I am sorry, we only appoint blacks at present.
When you then query this the respond is that its not racism but redevelopment.
This is presently happening in South Africa and is not only restricted to employment either. It happens all over.
It has happened to me on several occasions.

We have it here too mate. Certain jobs are funded by Government funds. eg: Aboriginal Welfare workers, Legal Aid, Aboriginal health etc. I can remember 40 years ago, my mother being extremely angry because Aboriginal Parents received an extra $10 a week to send their children to school. No such luxury for white children. Was that racist?

Unfortunately, this might be the result of planting seeds of racism and hatred in the world. Remember South Africa used to be a country of apartheid until recent years.

For me, I don't think that is racism. They are trying to help the blacks, therefore why put you through an interview process and waste your time and their resources when it fact they are tryingn to help their own country men. It is afterall South Africa. But that's just my point of view.

Well it just might be racism. However I am wondering about the unemployment rate for black vs. white, poverty rates, health care access, education and etc. if the scales are tipped as I assume with apartheid that they have been for many years, perhaps this kind of racism is intended to ensure that every group of people has means to provide for their families in order to combat crime and poverty and in so doing improving the quality of life for every member of the community of every group.

No...Racism is: a belief that one's own race is superior to another; or hatred of another race...I think the term you are looking for is "discrimination"...You feel discriminated against...That's sad that it happens to you on "occassion"...Just imagine if you had to experience discrimination everyday...Like some other races. unfortunately this is not a new thing...Many have been the product of discrimination for thousands of years...It didn't just start in "South Africa" last week or with "you" today..

I am sorry but no company in the US is going to tell you they appoint blacks only, so your question is disingenuous at best, unless you can prove it, and I know you can't!

Maybe you should look into your soul and re-examine your views!

It sure is but I can almost understand why. They are going on the idea that turn about is fair play, however, I say two wrongs don't make a right.

There is racism because a certain racial group is given priority. All applicants must be treated equitably.
