i'm wishing for a quality hot dog place, like on every street corner in n.y. i want that quality wiener smell like in n.y. it is very distinctive. the only place i've smelled it on the west coast is Pinks in hollywood. know any in the b.a. where i live? Caspers or Kaspers in the easy bay ain't it; neither is Marks in san jose, very over-rated w/ its canned Stagg chili and dull tasting dogs; Ben Franks ditto, better chili, but ordinary hot dog. i will go to s.f.(hate it because of the filthy street grime and litter, by and large) if a place is recommended. i want one that can stand on its own with just mustard.

Try the Dog-Out in Marina Village Shopping Center in the city of
Alameda. (Near Oakland) they do it just fine.
There used to be - 30 years ago - the Royal Frankfurter near Union Street. 'Twas trully wonderful. I still miss it.
