I know that I have ovarian cysts, and as far to my knowledge, one on each ovary. My last ultrasound was in September and the nurse said the biggest of the two was about pea-sized. They said to go a few months and see if they go away, and they haven't. I am almost positive they have been there for quite some time, possibly as long as 2 years, and I have been on birth control for 2 years, next month. The pain has increased greatly, especially in the past month, and I have an appt. Friday morning. If birth control is supposed to treat them/prevent them from forming, does anyone know what I might have to do to get rid of them? I have done some research and pretty much found surgery is the only way if birth control has not worked. Anyone with any experience/information for me?

I've read your massage, and you know what we are the same case. I have also an ovarian cyst and both of my ovaries are affected. In my case I haven't experience any pain or discomfort, its just my menstruation that is not regular. And the only way to correct it is to take contraceptives in order for the ovary to stop producing eggs and the pills were the one regulate it. I have been on birth control pills for a months, and I skip on taking it because there's a side effects. The only way to remove that cyst is surgery, either they will remove your ovary or remove the cyst.

It is a VERY colossal possiblity that it might be a cyst. I am studying your query and also you sound EXACTLY like I do. I have cysts and feature been on BC on the grounds that I used to be thirteen when you consider that of the equal disorders. IT sounds such as you do have a cysts, they usually will have to be equipped to do an extremely sound in your belly (now not interior) to peer them if they're there. Somjetimes it calls for surgical procedure to get them eliminated different occasions you need to allow them to burst on their possess wich is painfull, however you think SOOOO so much greater after. The discomfort you possibly having now is also person who has already burst and the fluid is aggrivating the whole thing. Look up Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. I have this and plenty of different ladies have it too without realizing it. There are every other wellness disorders they are going to pass along side PCOZ (polycystic ovarian syndrom), that must be addressed. Nothing existence thratening, simply stuff that's a discomfort within the butt. I desire you think greater hun! I realize in which you're coming from they usually quite do suck. Good good fortune hun, and if they're nonetheless "discovering not anything" however you're nonetheless having the discomfort, KEEP PUSHING THEM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I were handling cysts for eight years now, they usually nonetheless wont do some thing to aid me. Its an extended avenue in the event that they hold coming again, however confidently they're going to aid you greater than dr.'s were serving to me!!! Good good fortune love!!

I can't answer your question on how to get rid of your cyst(s) because I'm not sure. I know they can persist for years, but if it's causing you a lot of pain, I'd check back with your doctor on your options. I had one a few months ago that came on really fast, landed me in the ER when it burst and was gone before they ever finally ordered the ultrasound, so I have no idea how big it was. However, the nurse in the ER said she has had a huge one that spans the entire length across the top of her ovary and it's been there for over 5 years. Luckily for her, she doesn't get pain from it (yet). Normally you can leave them alone, but if they start causing bad pain, I think you need to ask the doctor if there are other options than surgery.

As far as your second question, I think they can grow relatively fast. I don't know about laying down and it getting bigger, but I do know that mine came on very fast - in less than 1 day.

Good luck to you.

I had exactly the same condition. I suggest you get a second opinion as you could develop ovarian cystic syndrome if you haven't already. It sounds to me that they are now trying to regulate your period that is why you are on the pill. Try contacting research hospitals as they are more aggressive and up to date in treating this condition. Email me if you need more information. Take care and good luck.
