What part of words within brackets do you people not understand? Obviously asking a question about when the Whitehouse was burned hit some nerves south of the canadian border as judging by answers recieved that attention to the actual question is missunderstood. Words in brackets are merely meant as a referral as to where the english troops were deployed from. Also these troops were not soley of English men, many were American Indians also some german's, and french whom were loyal to the British Crown.Get your facts straight people! I am an german descendent of such a soldier whom fought in that war in which the Whitehouse was burned in retaliation for events which took place on what is known as canadian soil whether you like it or not!
