It doesn't bother me, but ppl usually think I am a guy. I'm a 23 year old woman. Has anyone ever assumed something about you because of your avatar or user name, if so what?

Oddly I get a lot of people who assume, because of my avatar that I'm male, but my user name is female...I don't know where they get that funny idea that I'm male from. Seriously.
It's kinda funny really.
I also get a lot of people who think I'm a lot younger than I actually am. I'm a 40yr old mother of a teenage son. I'm an artist, so I guess that keeps me young at heart. I don't feel old. I was even paid a compliment the other day by my partner's Aunt. She didn't believe I was actually older than my partner...she also said that I don't look old enough to have a seventeen year old son!
Wow! I liked that!

My avatar is a total fake. I don't look anything like him and I think that's how it should be so people will learn not to judge a book by its cover or make ad hominem dismissals of my answers because they think they know who I am. I tried being a girl for a while but my honesty in answering questions got in the way so I had to switch back to a guy to continue to make sense.

no not really, but since we choose out names and avatars it is natural for people to make assumptions and draw conclusions about what you might look like or the kind of person you are. A photo or avatar is a peek into someones psyche

YES, its so true.......I often am asked the relative velocity of an object as it is lowered from a height of 3 ' in a arc like motion begining at an angle of155 degrees

yeah well i guess user names and avators can be misleading sometimes.. and i figure thats the whole idea, coz sometimes in as much as we may use these to describe who we are or whatever - many a times its meant to hide our actual identities so more often than not i think people will use something that totally throw people off...

They assume I am a fan of the rock band Tesla. When, in fact, I am a "fan" of the genius Tesla. Side note: the band is also a fan of Nikola, which is why they named themselves that.

yeah i have two screen names one is lucas and ppl think that it is my real name but its not. my other screen name is the darkest side you will ever be on ppl ask me what made u get that screen name for .
