I sometimes go through bouts of insomnia (they usually last up to 3 days). Unfortunately, I am unable to take almost all types of medications, including many herbal remedies. Can anyone suggest something to help me get to sleep? I FEEL tired, but when I go to lay down, I cannot sleep, so I get up, try to read, drink some Chamomile Tea, sometimes take a brisk walk. Nothing seems to help. Is there anything else anyone can suggest? It would be much appreciated.

I, too, suffer from isomnia. I've decied to see a sleep specialist next week, and have printed off the 7-day Ambien CR free trial coupon from Ambien's website. Money is not what I really concerned, I just don't want to commit having it for 30 days the minimum dose in a prescription.
I read all articles on Ambien CR that I can possibly found, (because I'm concerned about it's going to be a habit forming thing), the best answer I got was from webmd.com, which claims only over dose or taking it for an enlonged period would likely cause dependency. I'm determined to try it for 7 days. I'm tired of felling sluggish every day! good luck to you and to us all!

Talk to your Doctor. There are several medications that can be used for transient insomnia. Usually these bouts are triggered by stress...then you stress about not sleeping and it just kinda gets worse over time. Your Doctor may recommend a sleep study.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Have an orgasm, it will relax you and you will nod off right after if you don't get up or move. Kinda odd, but it works.
