A lot of practices. Learning moves. Rolling mats up. Having to wear a singlet. Stinky guys...and be careful not to get your finger or ankle broken.

Both of my sons wrestle, one since 8th grade and one just started this year, 8th grade also. I don't wrestle so I can't take you into the locker room but I can say this. My son who is in the 10th grade this year has spent the last two years training. Wrestling is the one sport that doesn't take a break. At least his team doesn't. Now that the season has started he spends a lot of time weight lifting, weight watching, practicing his moves and strategies, running to gain stamina. That's on the days they don't have matches. On those days they go over a few moves for about 30 min after school then they go back for the actual match.
During off season my son alternates between weight lifting and practicing. He went to several wrestling camps over the summer and the tournaments that he does run all year long.
It's a lot of work and he has a good coach that works with him.
I'm not trying to scare you nor am I saying all of the wrestlers on his team train year round but I do know he is not the only one on the team who does.
It takes heart, determination and intensity.
All in all I think you should go for it. It builds character.

You cant, you need to graduate and then think about your career in the wrestling business. Take it from a Pro. Do some back yard wrestling for about a year, then move up to gigs and promos and training. If you have any questions email me at ducksunlimited_2004. Ive been doing it since i graduated from school and ive been wrestling for about 3years now.

lots of weight training sore muscles and maybe a few bruises and if you bleed easily thats not holding your mud, you may not be able to participate.since hiv-aids has ruined all sports when someone starts bleeding and causes the action to stop many coaches want young men who dont bleed so easy. a nose bleed can be aggravating and you can get a bloody nose from your sport.

Practice a lot. Learn the moves, how to get out of them, and takedowns. Reversals will get you the points, so make that a focal point, especially if you're new to the sport.
