Human sacrifice. The republicans are scratching their heads trying to figure out what went wrong and had to offer someone up to the demons of failure.
It always bothered me that the top to people in this country were telling the generals how to fight a war and neither one of them ever served in active duty. At least not according to what I have read on them.
I'm glad he is gone, I don't believe he was willing to ask the generals, " what do you need." I fear he was dictating the war to them without knowing what the blazes he was talking about.
And GWB? Hah, he flew trainer planes for the national guard. I don't believe he ever studied military tactics much beyond the basics. Those two are the reason the Iraq mess has spun out of control. Too few troops initially and too few good ideas of how to manage the situation. And they were unwilling to accept feedback
from the men in the battle. What a crappola way to wage a conflict.
All the talk about torture being acceptable and the laws passed to make us safer??? I feel I need to be more afraid of a government out of control then I do of al quaida.......
NAH NAH NAH HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE........

He was a very arrogant man. He didn't analyze the real problems faced in Iraq reported by the military commanders. But I guess he might get some "consulting" kinda job. Just a year before Saddam's brutal Anfal campaign against the Kurds, Rumsfield shook hands with Saddam. And many of the significant circumstances surrounding the sad stories in Iraq weren't covered in the "regulated" US media. There were many things surrounding Rumsfield that we don't know about. Peace be upon all.

I love how he jumped ship after Bush said last week that "he [Rumsfeld] will be staying till the end of his term" so was this a lie...seems that way, y'know what they say, rats always flee a sinking ship.

I really don't know what to think. Thing are happening and too many changes to know what the results will be. We are at times such stupid people. Just when we think we know it all and begin to trust in what we believe, we get knock off our pedestal. I feel for the time being that we are knocked down for the count. For the time being I don't know how to call it.

CNN was raising the question, asking, probing, that maybe Rummy got fired. This is not a conclusion. A bigger picture is yet to emerge. There is a lot more to this story, its still unfolding.

He has been trying for years to get out, but Bush would never let him leave. At least he is gone of his own volition instead of that of the Democrats.
