It's a beginning and worthwhile if you're interested in psychology, as I am. It'll probably be a bachelor of science degree. You'll need a masters degree to get work actually using your psychology education, for instance as a licensed professional counselor. If you plan to teach, you'll need a doctoral degree.

What do you mean?
To get an Honours degree in Psychology you can take whatever courses you want, unless you have an anti-requisite or need a pre-requisite).
I hope that is what you mean
With an Honours degree, you can do clerical stuff for a mental health professional.
With a Masters you can be a professor and work as a couselor under the supervision of a Doctor.
With a PhD. you can do clinical work without supervision, you can get your own practice, etc.
Don't stop without your Masters but strive for your PhD.

It's generic in the sense that you will take courses in a number of different subdisciplines. You will take classes in neuropsychology, developmental, industrial/organizational, or other areas of psychology. To some extent, you may be able to focus on one area more than others when you are taking upper-level electives, but you still will cover several areas in survey courses. In contrast, graduate-level study in psychology is highly specialized, where you apply to a program for one specific area. For example, I could talk your ear off about social psychology, but I'd be clueless if I had to explain a technical neuroscience article. I could maybe talk about basic brain structures and functions, but that's not what I study in depth.

I'm not sure what you mean by generic but almost every school will accept the transfer credits just check it out with that school. Otherwise if you wanted to get a job with that degree you'll need at least a masters. If you wanted to be a professor and pretty much have your own publisher you'll need a doctorate. I hope I helped, Good luck with whatever you're trying to to.

It is not generic at all, the only chance of getting it is if you study for it and earn it, nothing like that is simply generic.
